I'm going to Northlandia on a missions trip this Christmas!

I wanted to share with you why we're going and what we'll be doing. And I'd love to have your support!

In some regions, Christians and their families continue to face persecution for their faith, including threats of violence and death, verbal harassment, and physical assault. Although most of the information in this letter is fairly vague, I still ask that you refrain from resharing this out of an abundance of caution. Thank you!

My church, Community Fellowship Church, has been partnered with a network of local Christians in Northlandia for over two decades.

Recently, we committed to supporting a group of local Christians and pastors in Riverdale Province, Northlandia, and part of this commitment includes sending short-term missions teams at their request to encourage, support, and minister alongside our local partners.

This Christmas break, I'm joining our team!
We're leaving on December 20th, and arriving back on January 5th.

Our goal is to help the local church share just the gospel message:

that God loves us, sent his son Jesus to die for our salvation (John 3:16)
that we may have life to the full in Jesus Christ (John 10:10)

We aren't there to share our culture, practices, or customs.

How did I end up joining the missions team?

Although our church has been sending teams for years, I've always been hesitant to join and I had a variety of excuses! I always thought that since I'm not the most eloquent nor extroverted, that evangelism would be a task better suited for someone else.

This past year, God's been showing me that not only has he been working powerfully through the short-term missions trips, but that he called each team member individually to do what he intended.

As our church prepared for this year's trip, I was continually bothered by the question: if God specifically told me to go, would I follow? I committed in prayer that if God wanted me to go, then I am willing.

And so here we are! I'm not sure what to expect, but I have confidence knowing that God is faithful.

Why Northlandia?

Out of Northlandia's population,
only 5.8% are Christian.

This translates to 4 out of every 5 people
who will never encounter a Christian in their lifetime.

It is a privilege to go and share the Gospel to this nation and to build up the local pastors and church.

What we'll be doing

Joining in village evangelism efforts

Encouraging, supporting, & affirming local Christians, pastors, and evangelists

Equipping & empowering the local Christian leaders by sharing God's word with them

Pray for the Mission Field

For the local pastors, local church and believers to experience perseverance with joy and passion as they faithfully continue to share the gospel.

For the Gospel message of hope in Christ to be shared and received in villages.

For the love of God and the Holy Spirit to fill their hearts and for lives of people to be transformed.

Pray for our team

For team unity to be built on love and servanthood.

To display humility, gentleness and patience, bearing with one another in the love of Christ.

To be saturated in the Gospel truth to become prepared and excited to express our reason for faith in the field and in our daily lives.

We welcome and appreciate any financial support, as the estimated trip cost is over $4K per team member. This includes materials and equipment we bring and team travel expenses.

All financial support over $20 is eligible for a charitable tax-receipt.
